In the cartoon above, which I took from the website called Ron Paul Forum, depicts Rick Santorum's stance on social issues is attacked. I choose this cartoon for various reasons. As you can see, in the image we have Rick and the Pope laying in the bed of what seems to be like a married couple. We also have the Pope stating that they are only here to make sure that the government does not interfere with their lives. This is extremely ironic because they are doing the total opposite by being in bed with them and even under the covers.
Rick Santorum as we all know is very conservative when it comes to social issues, however it has been very difficult for the media for most of the duration of the primary to really get him talking about it. Nevertheless his views are still made public when it comes to issue such as gay rights and abortion. Throughout the whole process though, Rick has been claiming that he does not interfere with people's lives, however a lot of his views are very invasive based on how most American feel. That is why we clearly have the man and the woman scared in the picture.
Another important factor in the picture is the bottle of aspirin Rick is holding on to. The bottle I believe symbolizes how he "drugs" people by fooling them into believing that he wont interfere with their lives when he actually does.
