Political Cartoon 5

This Political Cartoon  clearly deals with the Republican Primaries. In the cartoon, as you can see, there  are a number of signs representing the current candidates in the primary. Romney obviously has the biggest sign. He is then followed by Rick Santorum, who is followed by Newt. Ron Paul, if you've noticed as the smallest sign. The driver and the passengers in the car state that the signs surely puts the race in perspective.
The Cartoon doesn't necessarily have a ideological perspective. I believe it just carries a message based on past events. As we know, Romney has been the winner in a number of Primaries. This along with the outrageous amount of money he spends on campaign finances puts him as the frontrunner. Santorum is behind him in a lot of the primaries, but his budget fails to really compete with that of Romney's. Therefore that explains the decrease in the size of his sign. Newt although still in the race is barely one of the talked about candidates. If it weren't for the fact that he has a lot more to spend than Ron Paul I believe his sign would be about the same size as  Paul's.
Paul is a whole other story to me. The fact that he really doesn't have a sign like the others mean two things to me. The first is that cartoonist does not necessarily believe that he belongs amongst the previously mentioned candidates. This supports the idea that he is more of an independent candidate than he is a republican one. The second is that maybe he really does not stand a chance against the other candidates. His campaign techniques are maybe not effective enough.
