Political Cartoon 7

This political cartoon clearly deals with what many believe to be Santorum trying to change America to this extreme and unrealistic conservative thing with its belief. As you can see, in the cartoon Santorum is a priest standing over Uncle Sam who's in bed. While standing over Uncle Sam, Father Santorum states something along the lines of "be gone Satan, in the name of conservatives!" Uncle Sam who's in bed, is saying to himself in a rather iterated way "Santorum is still here isn't he? I'll just keep my eyes close and he'll just go away."
Santorum as we've seen throughout his campaign has been extremely conservative. His views on various issues has labeled him as the most conservative of all the Republican Candidate. The cartoonist who drew this cartoon clearly thinks Santorum is a bit ridiculous with his extreme conservatism. This cartoonist probably also thinks that the American people are getting more and more irritated with him. I mean Uncle Sam represents the United States. And if Sam is fed up and tired of Santorum, I think It implies that America in general has these feelings. Personally I feel  that Santorum would've have a better chance In this race of he weren't so conservative. Although it is true that candidates usually move to the center in their views. It is important for us to consider the fact that this republican race is clearly drawn out compared to most. Which means that there might not be enough time for him  move to the center without hurting his campaign.
